PS The US has been involved in more than its fair share of foreign armed conflict since its inception (too many to list here coz I'd max out the character count lol), so if a war-free world has been its aim all along then it sure has a, shall we say, interesting way of going about it... 🤔👀
PPS If they do actually pull it off, an end to the bloody war in Gaza and return of the hostages is obviously welcome news. But it doesn't just end like that and we pat ourselves on the back, crack open the champagne and move on.
The land will take many years to clear up, make safe and rebuild. Countless lives and families have been destroyed. People have been forever marred psychologically. And historical hostility, grievances and injustice didn't just evaporate with the flick of a pen.
It will take much longer than that and a lot more hard work to ever achieve real, lasting peace that all sides can accept and live with.
It's not a video game.
