Yea, they're made of cheap Plastmetal so it isn't so tragic when they die on the line of duty (have you seen the revolver? It's a guard drone).

Oh a guard drone, I have an idea for a serial designation then

CDG - for combat drone, G for guard as a sub duty
-X- - X is a place holder for whichever formation he's attached to
241 - example for which sub units in his formation he's apart of, in this example 2nd company 4th platoon 1st squad
.M4 - mark/model 4, should me self explanatory

"CDG-X-241.M4"

I think it'll work as the serial designation would summarise... him.

Wow! Now with this, I can give my drones their names easily! I feel honoured that people take so much time to think about silly little clankers.

I made a few mistakes that are fixable, ".M4" would make more sense as "A4-S" as thats what you mentioned his model is. And the "241" can be adapted to however you structure the formation, with a letter code at the end for rank. But I inteded for this to be a base for you to help. Glad you like it. =D

I prefer the first system, since you don't receive your rank once you were built, you get promoted over time. So rank inside the literal birth certificate would be wierd

sorry that came from my understanding of the star wars clone army (where rank was assigned at birth). My idea was that reading it would provide the most nessecary information abut them (in a combat sense). thanks for this discussion ttho.
