Always marvel at those inevitable "Man in the Street" interviews, where on day one of a layoff at some good Auto Maker job or similar, and they ALREADY have no idea how they're going to feed their kids.

Exactly precisely.
They know it’s coming. It happens every damn year now. You would think that they would have saved a little here and there to get them through their extra little vacation. And the thing of it is, that in the end, they will still get their paycheck in the form of back pay. They know it! It’s the game that Congress plays. It’s a win-win for them all!
