huntsman bites are not painful and their venom is completely harmless to humans
in fact, people in Australia say that a huntsman spider is an amazing roommate as they are timid, friendly, will eat bugs in your home, and will only bite if cornered
How do you know? Many in Australia say otherwise so I don't know maybe it depends on the pain tolerance but is this turning into one of those things like I've seen on reddit of animal rights people bashing people who have phobias. These same idiots have no regard for babies but attack people who hate spiders or eat meat. Those with phobias can't live with these things. Why do people feel the need to "educate" people?
AI overview. Really. No not a dangerous threat but many Australian people have had problems with them being aggressive when touched but with a phobia it isn't so much about danger but just their presence, appearance etc. This is something you clearly don't understand. I don't live there but have had an issue with spiders and many bugs especially locust/cicadas and centipedes are otherworldly disgusting. People with phobias can't catch these things. If it's small enough or in a good spot they usually get sprayed or squashed and big ones lead us out of our homes or to find someone who can deal with them. If someone can and wants to keep them then that's fine but if bugs, spiders and especially centipedes get into my house they're goners. Crickets or praying mantises I'll take outside but others I just can't do it. People are so ignorant about phobias. Mine date back to other things except centipedes as they're just the spawn of Satan.
I didn't comment this to overlook your phobia. I commented this because you wanted to know how I know about huntsman spiders being relatively harmless. there are variants of huntsman spiders that are more aggressive than others and all female huntsman spiders are aggressive when protecting their babies. also your claim of australian people finding them aggressive is only because those people are trying to touch them. leave them alone and they will likely not harm you
True but when it comes down to relocation of them from your home you'd have to touch them. That's what I'm referring to. Many Australian people on YouTube and other videos trying to get them out of their homes deal with the aggression and struggle to get them out so someone with a full blown phobia would likely just move out. That's pretty much the point of the meme here. Plus squashing a spider of that magnitude would take a sledgehammer plus quite a mess. So without a shotgun or a grenade the only option is move out. I don't mean to seem pissy but react based on past experiences and a run in with a Jerk on here last night right before this comment.
If someone will do that then I don't mind them being relocated but the expectation of those with bad phobias to do so with such a monstrosity is unreasonable and if they had any understanding or sensitivity towards those with these problems they wouldn't harp on them. The same ones support baby murder though but if I say anything about that I get called intolerant and fascist but it's somehow okay for the infallible people to do it. Anyone who would act like crap with a person over cockroaches infesting their home though should be slapped since they carry disease and I've been sick from them. Screw bugs, spiders and centipedes! Thankfully my cats love eating centipedes.
Because they are usually the ones that advocate for that who harass people on stuff like this about these spiders or centipedes etc. They are typically protective toward animals which I'm not against but have no regard for unborn babies which is hypocritical to bash people who kill creatures that get into their homes when they can justify the unborn as just a blob of tissue with no personhood yet. They talk about the woman's right but the unborn human gets no choice and I can't fathom that plus I have known a couple of women who had abortions and suffered tremendously afterwards because as a woman maternal instinct and intuition knows that's a person. When someone brings this up to people on reddit or elsewhere doing this they always are those who support that since they often bring up that stuff.
I say that because I assumed you were one of them because they're the main ones who do that. You've just now told me you were 15 and in high school. For all I know you were one of them being subtle with me to start a fight. I've experienced this many times as I am 46 and people really into defending spiders and other creatures like these are those who support that then judge those who hate spiders. Some come out and do it in the open while others try to start a fight gently like in your presentation so it's just a reaction based on the typical people who bring this up on reddit posts or memes. Glad you're just a high school student and I get it when you aren't scared of some creatures and maybe are fascinated by them and want to defend them. It's cool💪😉
