I do think “Gen Z Stare” is based on a real phenomenon of younger people being socially awkward and not knowing how to properly interact with people (largely exacerbated by the pandemic). I have a friend who takes like 5-10 seconds to respond to anything I say even on the phone.

But old people (especially employers) have basically redefined “Gen Z Stare” as young people looking at you, vastly overexaggerate it. Because everything Gen Z does is wrong to them.
