(as in, lots of evil) Jesus is describing that being wealthy comes with additional temptation to be content in our fallen world, and to not turn to god. Which is true.

But enough people are poor that tremendous social problems are ever present. America has more people incarcerated than anywhere else in the world! You don’t own anything until it’s paid for. We are basically indentured servants, and the homeless are difficult to ignore.

The definition of poor is relative. "poor" americans live like kings compared with the third world. Ok? and? Thats the definiton of ownership, yes. Indentured servants? In what way? Homelessness is most often a choice, much like poverty.
