When Barbara Robinson wrote "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" in 1972, the first sentence of that book was: "The Herdmans were the worst kids in the history of the world." Then in 1974, Stephen King wrote "Carrie". What Carrie White did (arson, mass murder of dozens, possibly hundreds of people) was a whole lot worse than anything the Herdmans did. If any motion picture captured the full scope of what Carrie White did in the book, it would not be a horror movie but a disaster movie.
