So we all know that in the beginning skyward sword was the beginning of the timeline and they all branched out to three different timelines The hero timeline ( adult ) The child timeline ( original timeline) And the defeated timeline ( worst one) But the problem is is that apparently breath of the wild tears the kingdom and age of calamity are not considered canon because apparently it doesn't fit well in the timeline cuz there are still remnants from the child timeline ( The armor and weapons) and a hero timeline ( locations as well as again weapons and armor) which leads to a speculation that the only way to get all these weapons armors and equipment from all the timelines is through the United timeline because Zora's in the defeated timeline are hostile however there are peaceful in this timeline .. however We also have ruto which are only exclusive in the child timeline and the gorons which for some reason should not all exist at the same time The only reason that we could theoretically have them all be together is because of the UNITED timeline And the only way we achieve this is because of Hyrule warriors which in the story every single timeline is merged into one to defeat Ganon ones and for all as well as their alternate universe versions and then after the advance of Hyrule warriors where All the links destroyed to their versions of Ganon and restore the timeline thus becomes the United timeline where all the timelines are fixed

The timeline splits because of OoT. SS has time travel as well, though, and you beat Demise in the past, which means that there's a completely unexplored timeline branch- but that's my own personal theory.
It's not that BotW, TotK, and AoC aren't considered canon; it's that they're so far on the timeline that things start to blur. The Nintendo team themselves said this (I'm paraphrasing): It's the LEGEND of Zelda, legends often have discrepancies. A lot of the games contradict themselves, BotW and TotK are no different. Yes, there are a few games which are not considered canon (Hyrule Warriors, the Tingle games, the CDI games, Link's crossbow training), but the Wild series are listed in the books and on the official timeline, so they are canon.
I do believe that there was a timeline convergence. It could've been anything, though. Maybe it was Hyrule Warriors, perchance Zelda time-traveling in TotK. We don't know. But here's something interesting about the Japanese/Eastern audiences compared to American/Western audiences: East doesn't care as much about what's considered "canon." It's the West that's always in a fuss about it. The West is always going to try to find out where BotW fits on the timeline, why Goku didn't show SSJ4 to Beerus or ever use it again, and the many other discrepancies in the Dragonball and Zelda series. The East just doesn't try to make everything fit cohesively, it's ok to have some discrepancies.

Also I want to say two hot takes tears the kingdom is boring I wanted to buy tears of the Kingdom in the past because I saw how many things you can craft however the stupid battery limit and spending 10 minutes in game farming zonai and had that stupid mechanic where you have to wait another 10 minutes again for the zonite to respawn Is tedious and time-consuming I just want to be a war criminal already That's why I never picked up the game and I feel the challenges like how it has the same problem with breath of the wild and it's shrines and it's dungeons are far too easy once you start exploring too much You become too powerful for the shrines in stuff not making it very entertaining because you can breeze by the story super fast...

Hot take number two: I feel and I really want to say this for the longest breath of the wild and tears the Kingdom failed what I imagined legend of Zelda to be because what I love about legend of Zelda especially Twilight princess is how dark the topics can be It's how grim but badass You feel about being the hero because Twilight princess is technically an open world game as well as operative time and Majora's mass The reason why I like this is because it takes on very dark topics like how in kakariko village in ocarina of Time has that torture room in the well that was used to torture and kill prisoners of war as well as criminals and it majora's mask is all about the end of the world which was dark and grimy and how the milk area where cream was apparently the milk has alcohol because it makes them forget what is going on almost as if like they're trying to forget the world is ending and try to cope with it That's why I love legend of Zelda and their dungeons are so cool I feel twlight princess was extremely creative My favorite dungeon of all time was that sky one where you have dual hook shots because it made you feel like Spider-Man... But breath of the wild and tears the Kingdom does not have the charm It just feels like you're grinding weapons and armor and breeze through the game once you become powerful It doesn't really feel like the Zelda I love which is traditional because in the original Zelda games the dungeons field so immersive had some puzzles that really got you thinking as well as weapons and gear that can not only be used for other dungeons but also there were very fun to be in as well as memorable bosses what I want from breath of the wild and tears the Kingdom is an open world just like ocarina of Time

I personally love BotW, it was my first Zelda game. Both of the Wild series were made to be unconventional, so I understand why some people don't like them. I like open world style games, but I do like the more linear games as well. I've played many more Zelda games now, recently having completed SS, and I do love the dungeons. Wild is completely different because it is its own genre. I've yet to play a Zelda game that I don't like. (Also, if you can, I highly suggest playing the DS games [Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks]. They're so good, but so underrated.)
And I still plan on playing Tears, I just have too many other games to play right now and I don't have the money to buy a game anyway

True I know that it starts to get difficult but having Hyrule warriors canon fixes a lot of plot holes of breath of the wild however again tears of the Kingdom and Hyrule warriors age of calamity: ( which I played ) makes them go back in time contradicting the timeline between tears of the Kingdom and making breath of the wild considered deleted from the timeline if both of them were canon so that's why I thinking after the United timeline it starts to disconnect again either that or tears the kingdom is actually the only one that's Canon if all the games are considered Canon

The only reason why the timelines are separated is because link time traveled too much in ocarina of time

Link traveling back and forth in OoT was perfectly fine; otherwise, each time he time-traveled, a new timeline would be made. The Master Sword is a vessel that could sail the seas of time (Sheik says something like this, I think), and because of how the 7-year time skip works (you spend 3 hours in the future, you'll come back 3 hours later from when you pulled the sword), no time conundrums arose except for the Song of Storms (Bootstrap paradox). The reason the timeline split is because Zelda used the Ocarina to send Link back, before he pulled the Master Sword the first time.

Spirit tracks and phantom hourglass are still one of my sought after games but ever since they discontinued the 3DS XL as well as producing the games is just becomes so much harder to find also another game that I wished I would have bought when I got the chance and I was still to this day want to play it is triforce heroes because of online multiplayer however I know people already made exclusive servers by changing your DNS ON YOUR 3DS BECAUSE I STILL HAVE MY 3DX XL IT'S STILL KICKING TO THIS DAY I HAVE JUST NO IDEA WHERE THE CHARGER IS YET BUT THAT THING IS STILL AT FULL BATTERY LIKE 10 YEARS LATER Sorry I left that thing in full caps But as I was saying I can't wait to try those games

I actually played Hourglass on an emulator for my phone, started playing Spirit Tracks, and then my grandpa found a DS in one of his storage units and gifted it to me. It came with a few games, none of them too exciting except for Pokemon Diamond. I homebrewed it so that I can play whatever I want, and lemme tell you, it's so much better to play on actual hardware instead of an emulator. I will eventually buy a 3DS, but, again, I don't have the money

The only reason why I don't like breath of the wild now looking back as well as tears of the Kingdom is because they have such an open world but barely anything to do but finding koroks ( I torture them for giving me a golden piece of poop I kid you not that's a literal reward) But also the shrines are just so unnecessarily easy to solve and small dungeons as well as so much exploring but it feels like you're just running for like 20 minutes straight get into the battle solve a dungeon and then repeat the cycle

I personally loved the exploration aspect, a whole world set in front of me that I can find secrets to.

Basically what I'm hearing the timeline is that there's so many contradictions and we start to go insane in hyperfixation dumping

Like speaking how easy it is to solve dungeons I remember there was this one shrine in breath of the wild where you have to like use motion controls for solving this cube structure puzzle where you have to light all the torches using one fire but there are like three fountains of water that extinguish it So instead of just solving it I just literally pulled out my flame arrows and solved it in like 5 minutes straight and what surprising is that the developers did not restrict using any flame weapons to solve the puzzle which was hilarious to me

Well yea, the beauty of the Wild games is that there's always multiple solutions to the puzzles. The motion control puzzles suck, tho-

Also what I want to say is there's also another game I want to play with friends and I believe it's the triforce hero series where you play as two link along with like a red blue and purple version of yourself and this could either be the most funnest game I ever played either on emulator or on official hardware like the Nintendo switch or this could be the most chaotic game I have ever played if everyone is just a jerk who will kill each other and will not cooperate at all

Oh yeah I forgot about that ( yes I played ocarina of Time) But talking about the United timeline so in breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom there are weapons and armors from all the games Even the armor descriptions and weapon descriptions say there are from different times long forgotten... And that's why Nintendo considered it not Canon... However there is one game in particular for the Wii U that actually had all the timelines converged into a single timeline as time itself was threatened and it was Hyrule warriors after the end of Hyrule warriors you restored all the timelines... And return everyone to their original time... Making it a perfect excuse for breath of the wild and tears of the Kingdom to Be cannon however there's only one issue to this and it's another Hyrule warriors game actually two of them... Breath of the wild version and the tears of the Kingdom The breath of the wild version sent you back in time before the events of breath of the wild to prevent people on the Divine beast from being killed... I have not played tears of the Kingdoms Hyrule warriors but I assume the same thing ... The only thing I can make sense for us being the United timeline is that you play breath of the wild first then you go play the " hyrule warriors version" either that or the timeline branches off again

Age of Calamity is not canon to the main timeline, but it could've still happened on it's own timeline. It's because Terrako time travels to before the Calamity, so they all prepare, but then a piece of Ganon also time traveled, so then Ganon's side prepared as well. But BotW still had to have happened, because eventually, Terrako pulls in reinforcements from the main timeline, including the modern-day champions. So, it's all wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.
I don't know about Age of Imprisonment too much, but I do know that it was stated to be Canon in the trailer. Age of Imprisonment is basically just following Zelda's side of the story from TotK, unless they pull some time-travel shenanigans again like Age of Calamity.
