Did you know?
Soyjaks were based off of a real man infamously nicknamed Soy Jack, a pirate who terrorized the shores of Africa during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early 18th century. He was known for only supplying his crew with soybeans and insects to eat during long voyages, as well as collecting the skulls of negroes from the villages he plundered. In 1722, he was captured and hanged by the British Empire.
