I didn't say Trump wasn't a populist (represents the interests of the common people), just that the demoncrats definitely are NOT. His policies are populist AND popular.

I'm pointing out the danger of false populism. Especially, coming from a billionaire narcissist who will lie, cheat, and lie some more, for personal gains.
All while selling merch to exploit his own base.

Maga is a cult. Caused by Trumps white national populist rhetoric, or, what Trump calls, Make America Great Again.

Perhaps looking up what a populist is might prove beneficial at this juncture, because that's not exactly what it means. Telling people what they want to hear in a manner that appeals to their emotions in an 'us vs them' go team! dynamic for the sake of political gain and representing their interests in a more grounded manner are two different beasties.

I know what populist means. Check the comments at the top of the meme. It's a meme and a play on words. That said Trumps policies do represent the interests of the common people AND they are popular... both things.

I love comments if they're cogent to the conversation. Only cowards disable comments.

Respect for that. I do the same. However, it's politics. Open for debate.

I'm not talking about the OP meme and whatever play on words. My comment was referring to your comment.

2/3 of voters did not vote for Trump in 2024. Their interests are not being represented. Heck, as his declining popularity numbers indicate, the interest of his base aren't being represented either, and it's beginning to sink in.

What are you talking about? More than half the country voted for Trump. I guess low inflation, no tax on tips or overtime, stock market at record high, wages going up, crime going down, illegal immigration practically stopped, and removing the worst of the worst is not good for the common man. What bizarro world do you live in? Let me guess. One fueled by MSM and lying Democrat talking points.

If 2/3 of voters did not vote for Trump in 2024, that means 1/3 did. 1/3 is not 1/2.

The one third who voted for him voted for him because of high inflation. Said high inflation is still high, with prices not coming down at all despite his campaign promise to bring them down in his first day in office.

Shocker, I know.

also, you can't undo 9 percent inflation overnight! Thanks BIDEN! it's down to just over 2 percent so yeah...much much improved.

I forgot about the independent voters. He got slightly less than half of the popular vote, but still 2 million more votes than Kamala
77,303,568 Trump
75,019,230 kamala
