Some news regarding Stars:

Matthew has plans for the main story to end by the 500th installment. The series apparently WON'T end there, though; to quote his recent Patreon post, "...anything beyond that is just a nice victory lap. Or maybe the beginning of something new and strange. I think the series can thrive by shifting away from its strong The Next Generation influence and become a little more Red Dwarf x Farscape x Voyager. Let's just say I have thoughts."

So far, there are 186 installments of Stars, and we're currently at the 70th one. Matthew hasn't updated the series since June due to him being [understandably] busy with Swords.

Speaking of Swords, he has plans, on Comic #1001, to make the series "become a once-a-week gag strip with more casual continuity", in response to feedback given to him by fans. This means the series will move at a slower pace, and hopefully continue all of the past arcs he established in it. He'll also redraw the arcs from the first half of the series to match the current artstyle.
