While the "Wednesday" series clearly has a lot of fans, and Jenna Ortega is an actress worthy of respect, there are two big problems with the series that keep it from being as good as it could be.
The first problem is that The Addams Family saga is supposed to be funny, and most of the humor comes from the contrast between the central characters and the larger world. By setting the story in a spooky school with gothic architecture, with a student body composed of vampires, werewolves, gorgons and sirens (among others), most of that contrast goes away.
The second problem is that the other members of the family are given too little to do. Season 2 is attempting to make up for that by having Pugsley attend Nevermore (he got in because he has electrokinetic abilities) and by having Morticia and Wednesday have a sword fight. But I don't think that's enough. If Wednesday is your favorite character, you're much more likely to enjoy the show, but if not (Uncle Fester is my favorite character), you're in for a long slog.
