"Candice sets her sights on the authoritarian forest bans in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. She discusses the confused rationale behind these bans – are they to prevent forest fires? To clear out the forests? To keep people safe from accidental injuries? Or are they simply about control?
Candice walks us through the many examples of legacy media figures and Liberal activists defending the bans and cheering on excessive abuse of government power, including a veteran who was fined $28,800 for walking into the forest.

Candice discusses the real danger for all Canadians: once governments normalize the use of lockdowns, outdoor bans and shelter-in-place policies – as they did during COVID – they will continue to use them whenever they want. This is the road to serfdom. "

The Democracy Fund:
"TDF litigation director, Mark Joseph, said: "Obviously, the government should take steps to prevent destructive forest fires. However, the courts have ruled that, under our Charter, when a government restricts a legal right, it must do so minimally.

Importantly, the infringement must be rational to the policy objective. While a campfire ban is rationally related to the prevention of forest fires, it's not clear to us that banning kayaking, hiking and fishing, for example, prevents forest fires. The blanket ban is likely unconstitutional for this reason alone."

You have the right to your own opinion but the Canadian Constitution has limited Gov't powers even for "good reasons or outcomes". This is to protect our democracy from gov't overreach lest our citizens rights & freedoms are superseded or revolved by authoritarian means.
Here's a map of present fires in NS to date. the province is not burning down to cinders.
Have a good summer day but don't walk in the Woods unless you have $25,000 + HST.

O, I do remember "the last time" but not the one you are referencing but this one:
"Candice discusses the real danger for all Canadians: once governments normalize the use
of lockdowns, outdoor bans and shelter-in-place policies – as they did during COVID – they will continue to use them whenever they want. This is the road to serfdom."
