Yeah I get that. This situation reminds me of something scary that happened with a plushie toy company. The plushie can record stuff and you need to use ur ID to make it accessible I think and basically all the databases of the company was hacked and all the information of kids and parents were leaked along the voice recordings. I might me wrong on some parts.. :"3 it's a scary thing I'd something like this happens if actual people do use their ID cards

And the fact that big companies like Google are getting hacked is just adding to my concern. Good thing I have a backup plan: downloading my favorites and waiting for this to blow over, and for YT to get their heads out their butts.

There are some good alternatives. I'd say billibilli is good although it would mostly have chinese content (I use it for animation stuff) and pinterest and rednote help to occupy that space if yt if u dont like smth like tik tok or Instagram

This beyond stupid, using ai to vet viewers based off of what they watch and then demand that they show government id or a credit card to access whatever they deem to be adult content and other features on yt. Is very dumb, im gonna give it a week to a month before they walk back this.

so basically the app was a dating app for women to see if the men there gonna date are creeps and the women are anonymous so they can have some degree of protection. however only the women were anonymous but the men weren't so it was abused and then they started posting the men's personal info.

and then recently they had a data breach and the security of app was awful to put lighty they put the women's personal info in a public file storage system with no backdoor security. so thousands people had there IDs leaked.
