🤣 Goes great with Toad in the Hole, Bubble and Squeak, Bangers and Mash and Knickerbocker Glory. And a certain F-slur snack (yes, they're a thing lol). Better link to Wikipedia before I get another timeout or auto-flagged by the system for writing rude words (but if I do, at least I did it in the name of education so my conscience is clear):

I don't make up this stuff, okay? You can literally still buy these and no one's ever bothered changing the name... Ask the Brits why they're so weird and don't campaign to change it. They're not exactly a commonly eaten dish anyway, I don't think (offal meatballs, anyone?) and I don't think most people over there really think about it much.
(And it's only distantly etymologically related to the offensive one and evolved separately. Both are also distantly related to the word "fascism". As for the slang for a cigarette, that's completely unrelated to the other word (just a coincidence) and generally not considered offensive to use and is commonly heard, at least in some countries (UK, Ireland, and maybe to a slightly lesser extent Aus/NZ), where it's normal.
People don't even usually think about the other unrelated meaning when using it. Just like calling someone a w*nker (just an insult like jerk or douche and doesn't usually conjure up images of self-pleasure), or "B*gger!", which is used like saying "Damn!" and other things (like "B*gger off!", or "b*gger all" for "f*ck all", ie "not very much" [of something]), without ever thinking about anything sexual or pejorative (just watch Four Weddings and a Funeral), although maybe there's an argument to be had for phasing it out, but I'm not sure that's been discussed much, even in LGBTQ+ circles. 🤔 Same goes for stuff like "Sod it!" They've lost their original meaning even though they started off with very offensive connotations/linguistic histories.)
Anyway, Americans also have nut butter and jerk chicken, and some still wear "fanny packs". 🫢
