Meet with Robert:
I decided to go visit Robert, since I’m going to be spending most of my time with him, I should probably get to know him better anyways. I made my way across the path that he went down and after a long walk, I saw him sitting on a bench. He looked up and waved at me.
“Seriously? You actually took time out of your day to hang out? Aren’t you tired of me yet?” He says smiling and leaning forward. “Have a seat.” I sat down next to him. He gives such an odd feeling… It’s like he doesn’t take anything seriously, but takes everything seriously at the same time. I spoke up to try and start a conversation with him.
“So uh… Robert. What do you usually do around these times?” He laughs like he’s offended I even asked.
“You’re kidding right? Just nothing! This is the only time I can do something without being told what to do! And after this case is over, I can finally leave. Maybe have a little vacation somewhere. I heard some good sightseeing places in Hawaii, but I don’t think my current pay is going to get me a plane ticket there.” He says smiling, just thinking about his freedom. “You know, I just moved here recently. It was kind of a tough transition. The humidity in this place is not something I can get used to… but it’s better than that old shack I used to call a home.” I perk up at this sentence…
“Did something happen in your old home?” I say wondering. He just glared at me and went back to his neutral position.
“It’s rude to ask someone you just met about their past, wouldn’t you agree, Matt?” He says before going back to his usual smile. “Besides, it’s not important to the case. What is, however, is how are you even going to handle the king?”
“Oh it’s simple” I say, casually, “I just find him, and then beat him up.” Robert looks at me dumbfounded, holding his hands out in a gesture as if to say ‘thats it?’
“Seriously? You need more planning. Maybe we should monitor people who might be attacked?” He says taking out a case file, sighing from the fact that he has to do more work. “All we can find out is that it seems like the King is targeting people who are at their happiest. That inmate from before was going to be released tomorrow, and another man won the lottery. Another woman who finally got engaged, and so on…”
