No. It takes place in a war. It’s not too graphic since it’s a children's book but there are more deaths and fights than the other arcs. That, and overall just heavier topics in general. I’d say one of the worst things gore wise in the book is how Kestrel gets killed in the first book. Stabbed through the chest by Blister (shown in the graphic novel variation). The only other thing I think is pretty bad is probably Whirlpool attempting to kill Tsunami in book 2. It mellows out a bit after that.
