Some one posted this post from the pokemon subreddit saying they support grooming. They left the username uncensored so I tracked down the post to critique it.

They kind of are supporting grooming even if unintentionally, they are literally saying that the parent is fine for selfishly wanting their daughter to be a son and for pushing that on their child even if the child hasn't consented to it

I’m pretty sure that was actually intended to be a joke (hence the embarrassment expression) and not taken this way, but I’ll tell them it could have been worded better and/or provided conversation/context that lead to this point. Hence, why I’m there to give suggestions to avoid confusion.

How does this sound?

This got posted to imgflip’s most popular none default stream and the comments were less than happy. I’m not sure if it was meant to slander you but it appears that way. Not only that the poster left your username uncensored, so here a I am.

Critiques:
1. Nidorina looks a little more scared than embarassed in their actual expression mostly because of the eyes, I’m assuming you meant for them to be embarrassed.

2. Personally, I thought that was just Nidoking joking but Nidoking does come off as pushy at best, and at worst trying to force their child to be trans (if what’s said is taken literally). Tbh without the words I’m pretty sure this wouldn’t have been mistaken for grooming and then reposted on imgflip to slander you. You can either build up to the joke stated or rewrite it, but this was the main reason it got reposted to slander you. One commenter specifically cited the use of the word “problematic” as the reasoning for accusing you of supporting grooming.

After reading the rules, I’m positive any comment I make in this fashion is gonna get nuked. I won’t be doing it since it’s likely that post is being watched by a hawk (like most posts involving trans people are)

You should probably tell the poster that the post seems a little unintentionally creepy, and that they should fix it so that it doesn’t look creepy

Thats what the critiques are for! Hence why I told them to fix Nidorina’s expression and change what’s said.
