It could tbh. Could also have been better executed, the tail in the actual 3D render looks a bit weird just jutting out of the back like that. Overall though I kind of like it.

its the best it could be. if it was more awesome and cool, it wouldnt feel like dragonite because hes just a goofy stereotypical dragon

I would have added a bit more, but this is in line with their other megas. Not overly flashy, even a little goofy.
