Leno's tenure on the Tonight Show spanned three presidents (Bush I, Clinton, Obama). He just poked gentle fun at their foibles and quirks, never with malice. He is also a really nice guy in both show business and real life. Letterman was OK until he turned overtly political. If you wanted to stay up really late, Conan O'Brien was "quirky."
