A year ago today, an assassin attacked now-President Trump at his Butler PA rally. Turning his head just in time, Trump survived with only his right ear being grazed. But three other attendees were injured, of which Corey Comperatore, a father and a local fire chief, didn't make it.
While some Trump's recent actions conflict with my personal beliefs and pushed me back left, I am still grateful he is alive. First, I do not support this level of violence, regardless of Trump's faults. Second, losing him could have radicalized the country further and potentially cause civil war.
So I pray for Corey and his family, for the Texas flood victims and their families, for good people around the world who Trump may have hurt, and for God to gently remind him that he serves as our president and not our king.
