ofc but the key difference is that blackface is intentionally racist. tanning is done by the literal sun. people tan without trying .

Blackface is looking a certain colour with the purpose of representing black people, dumbs down an ethnic group to their colour.

Tanning is looking like how you want to look.

Only one of the two hurts other people.
