I was watching I Love Lucy last night, and there was an episode where Lucy wanted to join a ladies club. But the women didn’t want her in the club because she was considered “show folk.”
I found this interesting. Perhaps the entertainers may not have started with the same cache they have today.
I’ve never understood how people could wait around just to catch a glimpse of another human being. An alien from outer space? Maybe. But only if I wasn’t busy, and the alien was less than a few blocks away.
