As the destruction in the town continued, police forces arrived. They did try to intimidate and get some bloodfiends to surrender, some did out of fear, but most of the time either the bloodfiend had a hole through their head or the policeman.
The bloodfiends were newly transformed humans, they did not possess any experience with being a bloodfiend and with their capabilities, so even if they had the ability to deflect bullets with weapons or create weapons out of blood, they did not know how to do so.
Ultimately, the bloodfiends were all decimated, some taken alive for study by the Government once those guys arrived.
They broke into the house of the Mayor to assure his safety, and the Mayor put on the role of the victim.
“It was horrible… suddenly a few perfectly fine and friendly townspeople became bloodthirsty killers… I had grabbed my shotgun to help out and defend them but they stormed my house…”
The Mayor said, his story convincing due to the events that played and the various bloodfiend corpses in the house.
The Mayor added that he had information about these monsters, and that he had to meet with the governor. Being the Mayor of that town and having some complex connections, he was able to assure his meeting with the governor.
The town’s population was halved, both due to part of them becoming bloodfiends, and due to most of them dying to said bloodfiends.
The Mayor left on a helicopter to go meet with the governor, he smiled as he got onto the helicopter, preparing his plan.
Much later, around 8pm, the helicopter arrived at the Executive House where the governor held all his meetings and events.
The Mayor got off of the helicopter and followed the guards to the interior of the House. He pretty harshly put his hands onto both the guards’ shoulders, piercing them with his claws. Although he used just enough pressure for them not to notice.
He laughed and joked around, and then left them be as he entered the House.
As he was guided through the House, he shaked the hand of many people, he tried to shake the hand of as many guards as possible, but usually it ended in a shoulder pat.
Each of them was cut by his claws, and if they noticed, he blamed his “nails”.
