If anyone has been on imgflip pre covid, when did it become Maga?

I've been on Imgflip since 2015, but 2016 is where things started to get political, and it only went downhill from there!

My opinion;
In 2017 there were far more Trump supporters on politics side than today, and the word "maga", was not commonly used. When you posted liberal memes, they would religiously dog pile you, like locust, with dozens of negative comments. You would swear, they communicated with each other, like a hive.

I remember top of page likes on politics side numbering in the hundreds. I also remember posting civil conversations with some of them. ( Can you imagine?)
In my opinion, only the most ardent, hardcore, extreme, true believers of Trump exist on politics side today.

In the early days one of them said, "he's one of the good ones. you can actually talk with him."

I've been on the site since there was only 1 stream to contribute to. I didn't make an account until 2014, but I hadn't been here long before that. Maybe late 2013 or early 2014. If you go to my profile, all of my early stuff is submitted to what is now the Fun stream. This is back when most of the content was actually funny stuff.

It was in 2015 when the US Presidential campaign kicked off that the political stuff started taking over the top stuff. Each one supporting Trump would get 100s and 100s of upvotes. The whole top/hot/new page would be pro-trump. (obviously bots were upvoting, but not common knowledge back then).

That's when the complaints started, a lot of people didn't want to see that stuff. So, site leadership created the different streams so Fun would be fun again. It's during that time period where I submitted a lot of political content to main stream (now Fun), and it's still waiting to be approved.

It wasn't until the election in 2016 that active users were Trump supporters. Before then it was run of hte mill conservatives, anti-Hillary people, etc.

How are imgflip bots made?

Same way any other bot- it's software that logs into an account.

If you look at any major stream like, Dark_Humour, Memes_Overload or even Politics, the top meme is always WhoAmI, even on dead streams I swear like I see his memes have 2 upvotes, then an hour later they have like 50

THey also sometimes only post images

Might be a recipient of bot behavior then.
