Will It Matter?

Trump is less than an atom and in terms of the Cosmos everything he does is irrelevant. His entire existence matters about as much as a grain of sand in the desert. Actually much less. Because our entire galaxy is less than a grain of sand in the Cosmos.

One day he will die, just like you, and just like me. That is 100% guaranteed. And eventually he will be completely forgotten. So will you. So will I. And in 100 million years no one will ever know any of us ever existed or even had this discussion. But the earth will probably still be here. So will the Sun.

From the perspective of the Universe, Trump is meaningless. Focus on your life. Focus on your family. Focus on what you care about. Focus on your values, on your passions, on what makes you feel alive. Focus on your religion. Focus on anything. But don't focus on Trump.

He is an irrelevance. He will end up dust just like all of us. Stardust, yes. Because that's where we all came from. But we're still dust. All his fancy words will mean nothing when he's dead. So will mine. So will yours. Focus on now.

If anything comes after we die, then great. But I don't think it will hinge on what you thought or didn't think about Donald Trump. I don't think God is going to ask you who you voted for.

So to answer your question: no, it will not matter. In the grand scheme of things, Donald Trump does not matter at all. And if you are religious, then God is eternal. So again, Donald Trump does not matter. He is just one mortal soul in a world of countless billions of souls.

He has a very big ego, yes. And he has a lot of money and power. But he is not even an atom if you zoom out. And one day he will become dirt and worm food. Just like me. Just like you. And no amount of his imagined importance can stop that. None of his money or power mean anything in the grand scheme of things. They won't even last 100 years, let alone a million. This is the same whether you are religious or an atheist.

Focus on something, but don't focus on Donald Trump. Have a nice life. x

I don't think I mentioned anything about Communism though, or whether I voted for/against Trump. I'm not even a US citizen so can't vote anyway.

Jokes aside, what you do in the US is your problem. It barely affects my life in any meaningful way whatsoever (since we're lucky enough that we're not part of the "Axis of Evil" and you're not airstriking my village lol), other than maybe seeing stuff go up a bit at the supermarket. I just care when you start interfering with other countries and bombing people. (Same goes for the UK, France, Germany or any other country btw.)

I'm not a Communist fwiw. I hate Communism. We all know state "Communism" has resulted in many millions more deaths than even fascist regimes. I don't want to live under a Communist regime. I might lean towards some kind of socialism, or centrist-socialism (as in, I don't want people to die on the streets or be destitute just because they're disabled or can't find work, and I believe in a welfare system, free health care for all, and supporting the elderly, disabled and vulnerable in society), but I'm not a Capital C Communist. Well, I actually agree with your graphic. That applies to all of us, and to science. We don't even know if the entire observable universe (which is already too absurdly big to ever comprehend) isn't just a tiny part of the "real" universe that we can't even see and we're just seeing a fraction of it, or if that in turn isn't "part" of something else (like a multiverse or higher dimensions or who knows what).

It's very big. We (and our knowledge and understanding) are very small. The only sensible response (in my view) is to give in and accept humility in the face of that kind of stuff, and that applies equally whatever your spiritual or existential beliefs are.

It transcends religion or lack thereof. We're like microbes on a hard drive trying to understand the internet or democracy or something.
