true artificial sentience is theoretically impossible, so this question is irrelevant

Robots can never be sentient nor will they ever gain real consciousness so they will not go anywhere when they “die”

Is our consciousness anything more than a complex logical process?
Then aren't we to a robot, what a god is to us?

The idea of being conscious is only subjective today because our understanding isn't complete. One day, we might have a complete understanding and would be able to compute logically or quantify everything that we currently perceive as "subjective", like feelings and thoughts.
Then would we be "robots"?

Our behaviour is only considered non-deterministic because it's virtually impossible to calculate every possible thought and stimulus which leads up to our behaviours.
It makes us look random, but it can't possibly be perfectly random if a physical process is causing it. Rather, it's just too hard to know everything.

Like a dice roll is not random, it's only random enough to be hard to predict by a person in real-time- which is why we use it to simulate actual randomness. Once you factor in every possible force that acts on the die, you would know how it lands and it wouldn't be random anymore.

I think this is only how our consciousness, and our behaviour is considered different from a robot's. One is unpredictable, one is predictable. But the unpredictability (or uncertainty) cannot be what differentiates us from a robot, as it only exists of because of our physical, and computational limitations.

Complexity doesn’t equal to consciousness. Just cuz something is hard to calculate doesn’t mean it’s self-aware. Because consciousness isn’t just about reacting to things, it’s about experiencing, having a sense of self, purpose, emotion, morality. All that. No matter how advanced robots get, they’re still running on code written by people. That’s not the same as truly 'being’ which is what we define as us !

But I agree with you at the same time I do see your point - it’s very possible humans are just another type of robot in some other way. God will always be a very wishy washy topic for me and I don’t like speaking on things I’m uncertain about, you know this. uhm ,,, but know I do understand where you’re coming from. I don’t doubt any of it.

My point is, you can program a robot to say 'I’m sad' but it doesn’t feel sadness. It mimics it, it mimics US. This we KNOW. Questioning humans as its own thing??? I can’t say much about that because you’re right, we know too little. However I will stand by the fact robots are not conscious because we have no other definition for “conscious” other than the one we created, so questioning what we have created to that extent is useless because you are only questioning the unknown.

The property of being hard (or impossible) to quantify is what makes these feelings "feel" so unique to us. But they're physical, and that makes them reproducible- which removes all the magic from self, purpose, emotion, and morality. They're complicated neural signatures, created by our body and only existing in a physical space.

this is where I mention energy and the stuff you feel but cannot explain . but I will not talk about that because that’s just as bad a a Christian yapping about Jesus 🧘🏽‍♀️

you’re right!

I was surprised you didn't mention it.
