You do realize that the internees in Manzanar and the other camps also came to America willingly? . . . Except the many internees who were native citizens, of course. Trump's policies are tearing apart American families in a similar way, and many of them families with a proud tradition of service, like the Japanese-American veterans of WW2.

Correct: by the conditions of her birth, she wasn't a citizen ANYWHERE. But she lived her life here and did her best to follow all the regulations she had to, given the unfair situation she was stuck with. For that, she was locked away for five months, threatened with deportation to a war zone, et cetera.
