There are a bunch of different translations, a lot of which are hard to understand and have a bunch off thees thys and thous. The New American Bible is honestly my favorite translation, and is easy to understand.

I plan on learning Greek so I can read the New Testament verses themselves as their original version if I have to.

But i did assume that's maybe what you meant since you said that NAB is invalid.

i assume anything newer than KJV is invalid, as its the most direct translation although a little harder to understand. anything else is almost guaranteed to have at least some changes to the underlying meaning in an attempt to make it "easier to understand"

i also dont trust people to completely translate it properly since popular beliefs have shifted since the great "awakening". im also more partial to the geneva bible anyways

Well it really depends if it captures the ideas that the original authors of the New Testament is trying to put out, so I wouldn't invalidate any new translations unless if I know they're inaccurate. I don't think the New American Bibke is inacurate in this particular verse (maybe except for adding a few extra words), it gives the idea that is supposed to be made.
