The private sector in North Korea is very small. Most people who have jobs are employed by the government, which means the government is big. It has the lack of freedom and prosperity to match.
Whatever the government has ordered them to do. Some are in the military. Some pretend to run fake shops that are set up just so the few tourists they get can pretend to be impressed. Some are forced to work for China to make money for the government.
If your boss orders you to do something does that mean you aren’t part of the company? My point is that the government is huge because they control everything…even down to the hairstyles people can have.
OK, sorry for this whole exchange, since I agree(actually, it should be more of a hyperbola than a straight line), but "size of government" will most likely be understood as "amount of people in a position of power"
It’s ok! I like debating! You are right that most people probably think of that as the definition of “size of government,” but even the lowliest pencil-pusher at the IRS has power over the tax payers in this country. Power is relative, so that’s why I define it as size.
