I have said this several times and I will keep saying it every time I see this happen.
In Doom Eternal there are so many buttons tied to the first person parkour that are on the right side of the controller. What does that mean? It means if you want to jump or boost, you need to take your thumb off of the right joystick to press those buttons, leaving you unable to change the direction you’re facing. So you have to line up the camera and then hope you’re at the right angle the whole time because you can’t change it until the platforming sequence is over. You are platforming and you can’t even look around while doing it.
For comparison, both Portal and Mirror’s Edge made jumping tied to LB because the designers knew that being able to look around while jumping was crucial to first person platforming. Since you’re using the left bumper, you have both thumbs on both joysticks. I’m not saying Doom Eternal needs to be Mirror’s Edge, but it would certainly help.
