In the depths of a dark black forest, a hunter searched for its prey. The prey was difficult to find, and also very dangerous.
Fog clouded his vision as he patrolled the lonely dark forest, the tall trees closed off his view from the sky.
He stumbled upon a stone path and closely examined it.
“Bingo. Not too far from here” He thought.
He stood up, gripping his hunting rifle and followed the path.
The forest started to become less thick, some houses were around, although in ruins, and the fog also dissipated a bit, but it was slowly being replaced by a thin red mist.
“The town in the dark forest… Jimmy wasn't crazy after all” he thought to himself.

The town infront of him was all in ruins. The architecture was gothic for the bigger and presumably important buildings, while the small homes seemed more or less just cottages. Dry blood everywhere. Houses were burnt. Rotting corpses were hung on display.
Everything is surrounded by a gentle yet noticeable red mist.
And on top of everything, at the top of the hill, a black cathedral, not in ruins surprisingly. It stood tall, taller than everything else, even taller than the trees.

“That's where those blood-sucking bastards are” he mumbled angrily.
He approached the cathedral, following the path up to the hill, the red mist got thicker and thicker the closer he got to the cathedral.
And once at its large doors, he opened them surprisingly easily. The red mist around the cathedral slowly rose in a spiral and dissipated at the top of the cathedral.
As he entered and the door closed behind him, a veil of darkness appeared, as if even light itself was afraid to enter the mysterious church. The only light came from the mist outside, a red hue dimly shining from the windows. He had a flashlight on his rifle and used it to navigate the halls.

As he walked through and made his way to the main hall, he noticed a pair of red glowing dots just in front of him. The flashlight couldn't reach the figure, suffocated by the darkness.
He got closer and the figure revealed to be a human… or a statue. The figure didn't move a muscle, didn't even look at the hunter.
“Better be safe than to have something back stab me” he said before shooting the figure with his rifle.
The figure’s arm dashed to his side to grab something, and suddenly a spark in front of the figure. It was holding a sword, and it had sliced the bullet before it even reached him.

“State the purpose of your arrival”
The figure said, with a deep cold voice.
The hunter was flabbergasted by the incredible speed the figure had shown and didn't have words to say.

“State. The. Purpose. Of. Your. Arri-”
He was brutally interrupted by a blunt hit to his head by the butt of the hunter's rifle.
“Dirty vampire…” the hunter said as the man he had hit stumbled backwards.
“How did he-”
The man was interrupted again by another hit to the head.
But this time the man reacted with aggression, and slashed downwards at the hunter. Surprisingly he parried with his gun and grabbing the sword’s blade, he shot the man 7-15 times. I lost count.
The man dropped to the floor, presumably dead, but the hunter shot him a few more times in the head just to make sure.

He continued down the hall and encountered another large door, ornate with ruined holy symbols, it seemed like something didn't like all the holiness of the place.
He opened the doors, and a great hall was revealed.
A large hall, faintly illuminated by the red mist through the high windows, and at the end of the hall, a throne with a lady on it.
He walked down the path towards the throne, what seemed to be other motionless figures standing in guard beside the path he was walking.

“Mmmh~ a human came to give us a visit…” the lady on the throne said with a warm yet eerie voice.
He was just half of the way there.
“Here to kill me aren't you?~” she added.

The hunter stopped at the feet of the stairs leading to the throne.
“So silent…”
The lady stood up, now illuminated by light. She wore a dark dress, with some grey parts and crimson decorations on it. Her shoulders and arms were covered by a dark cloth.
Her red eyes shone brightly, her crimson hair tied up neatly, her skin almost pale, her hands had deep red claws; She looked like a princess.

“Blood-sucking bastard… so you do exist”
The hunter finally spoke.
One of the guards spoke up, threatening “You do not refer to our lady with those vile words!”
The lady raised her hand and the guard stepped back.
“Do not be harsh with him…~ He is just a human… he is not familiar with our customs~”

The hunter pointed his gun at the lady and pulled the trigger.

The lady sliced the bullet with her hand, shaking her head.
The hunter tried to hit her with his gun, with his incredible speed, although the lady simply side-stepped away.
“I was thinking…” the lady said while the hunter continued trying to hit her, alternating between blunt force and shooting her.
“I was thinking to torture you a bit for trying to murder me, and maybe then let you go…”

When the hunter swung his gun, she grabbed it, crushing it.
Her voice turned cold “But you killed one of my Kin, so I'll take your heart as compensation”
Before the hunter could react, a cold hand dug into his chest, gripping his heart.
The lady pulled his heart out of his chest, leaving the hunter to fall on the ground.
“It has been a long time since my Children have feasted… you'll make up the perfect meal~”

As the hunter extinguished his final breaths, he saw the lady drink blood from his heart and all the guards jump him, biting, sucking blood, scratching.

After the carnage had happened, there left a completely dry corpse, the lady cleaned her mouth with a handkerchief, and sat on her throne.
“Humans… are so weak… Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had the world to ourselves?~”

“More will come… stronger ones, and I won't let my Kin die one by one…” she said with a cold voice, yet caring.

One of the closest guards responded
“My lady, are you suggesting we abandon our home? And go to war with the humans?”

“There are so many of us out there, hidden in the shadows… afraid to die… but it takes 5 experienced humans just to take down one inexperienced bloodfiend. And it takes ten times more to kill a warrior. To kill a Capo of a clan… it'd take thousands more than a skilled hunter…” the lady firmly stated.

The guard responded confused
“But my Lady, but our clan is small, and we lost one of our brothers… How can we fight millions of humans?”

The lady’s response was a warm laugh.
“Oh my Child, my Child… I don't mean a war between our clan and the humans…~ we are all around the Earth… all of Us are going to war… Hehe!~ I think it's time that we stepped out of the shadows~”

Another of the guards added “I'll send a letter to the other clans informing of this decision” and he walked off.

The lady rested her chin on her hand, as she smirked. A smirk of one that knows they will win.
Her name was… Carmilla Báthory. A First Kin, and the Princess of Bloodveil.
