Sonic Frontiers is a good open world game.

But it’s not a good Sonic game. It only has 4 characters, the story ends exactly where it started, and the cutscenes are lazily animated.

But I’m not kidding when I say this

It’s not on par with Far Cry 2 or Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (no game I have played has ever come close to those), but the open world of Sonic Frontiers was very fun to traverse through. It has building-sized minibosses scattered throughout the map and beating each one is like its own unique level.
