So the President of Mexico goes off about taxing remittances. Why?

* There's $64B in remittances sent to Mexico annually
* Makes up 3.4% of their GDP
* Mexico puts a 16.7% VAT tax on it
* The Cartels take a cut of the VAT tax

In other words, without it the Mexican economy would collapse.
