a regiment could be between 1,000 profesionals (about the size of a modern day regiment) or 10k consripts (modern day divison size) and multiple regiments are employed to fight so maybe, but not often as there are cases where 10 regiments are assigned to retake a world.

Meanwhile the soviets with 12 billion people too just take Germany and Poland

by the end of ww2 they had 500 divisions, so about 5 million soldiers

Really? From what I know the Imperium controls like hundreds of planets right?

offically its stated to be around a million worlds

and some planets have trillions of people (Hive worlds, or what I like too call gaurd recruitment worlds)

but the small number can be attributed to the fact that all plantets recurite for the PDF (planetary defence force). but only every few years they must give a few regiments to the imperial guard as tax.

I see... Tax in soldiers is crazy, just tells you how big the army is.

yeah so in actuality the imperial guard really just reinforces local PDF or participates in crusades as the shaft or the spear not the tip, whilst also garrisoning worlds taken. hence the name "guard' as that's their main duty, to defend the imperium

TBH I almost think the Warhammer verse could survive an invasion from The Combine (HL2)

if they didn't have to face the other threats of 40k, they wouldn't just survive, they'd wipe the floor with the combine.

The Combine spans over countless universes with wildly different beings, including ones that have some pretty strong 'magic' (or what seems like magic), we don't even know what the original combine race might have looked like since they integrate every species and their technology they find in their armies, in HL2 they took over Earth and nearly extinct humans in a war that lasted 7 hours, they likely weren't even using everything they had.

The Tithe Grade, also called the Imperial Tithe, and the Great Tithe, is a bureaucratic designation of the Adeptus Terra that determines the amount of raw materials, strategic resources, manufactured goods and/or soldiers an Imperial world must supply to the Adeptus Administratum as taxes or tithes to keep the Imperium of Man's interstellar government, military and economy functioning.

And then there's Novakuan that only has a little less than half a galaxy-

the imperium of man has been in war econemy for 10,000 years. they also have much majic. plus TITANS. and do we know of the combines naval capabilities. as in star wars, the death star was the only weapon that could destroy planets at it's time. in 40k every imperial warship can do that.

I feel like Combine wouldn't exactly lose but wouldn't be able to take over 40K either, they'd just become another huge threat the make living in the Warhammer verse worse lol.

Yeahh. Warhammer has literal gods too. But we don't rlly know what all the combine has, the only reason they probably didn't use planet busting tech is that they wanted to tear apart Earth for resources. Some stuff we do see the combine have:

- The built a prison on Earth that can contain Gman, who is able to mess with time and possibly has some other crazy stuff we don't know about.
- They power this prison with energy from enslaved aliens called Vortigaunts, which themselves can control life and death to an extent.
- Drove a species with mass mind controlling and universe traveling abilities to extinction.
- Have tech to brainwash and clone human soldiers (and likely all the other races they assimilated).
- In the Epistle 3 plot they have built dyson spheres in a world that they use to launch attacks.
- Main plotline of Epistle 3 involved obtaining a great boat that can travel through time an other worlds, considered insignificant compared to the combine's other tech.
