what the f u c k is a debian

It's a distribution of Linux. Which there are a BUNCH of Linux versions, but this one makes the most sense, since a lot of other distributions are just based from debian, so why not just use debian? I thought about it then i tried, and it's my favorite so far.

Even though i like Linux since it's lightweight, doesn't spy on you, and is completely free unlike Windows and Mac, i don't recommend changing to Linux unless you are absolutely sure you know what you are doing, since i have made so many mistakes and changed distributions many times, and i even ruined a 5 terabyte hdd while trying to get it installed. (Which was my fault)
