I hate when you have to complete the game to unlock more characters like super mario galaxy 1

It takes me years to unlock him

I unlocked him easily as a child I remember you needed 120 stars but I kept getting them all because I just love Mario Galaxy so much that I thought you had to beat the game in order to unlock it as well as I think I remember how to unlock the red star I just wish the red star was used for more levels
