My physics teacher once had us make a design for a Rube Goldberg Machine. Whenever he pointed out something that was obviously physically impossible, the presenter(s) would say it was possible because of "cartoon physics" and he'd let it go. He was very strict and intimidating most of the time, so it was always a relief when he decided to be funny like that.
