I wonder how effective that trick is. Wouldn't the predators eventually figure out the penguin's strategy and adapt to it? Instead of instantly devouring the first penguin they see the second they see it, they could wait until multiple penguins go into the water and start a feeding frenzy. Then more of them would get more food.
