A great beast, a red dragon with 7 heads, a horn on each head and 3 on it's tail, terrifyed a small city ruled by a king.
The townsfolk offered two sheep to the dragon everyday to keep it at bay, but once all the sheep had been offered, they started offering people chosen by lottery.
And that day, the daughter of the king was chosen. The king tried to bribe the people, promessing riches but they refused and insisted on the sacrifice of the king's daughter.
They sent the young girl to the outskirts of the city, near the cave where the beast lurked, she was just about to enter when she heard a voice calling “Hey ma’am! What are you doing?”
She turned around and saw a tall young man in knight armor with a great spear in his hand and a shield on the other and a white horse beside him.
“P-Please stay away! You do not know the dangers that lie in this cave! Please go!”
“Go away? And leave a young girl undefended? I'm sorry ma’am but i won't.”
The young man was called George of Lydda, a soldier recently enrolled. The Princess tried to send him away again but George vowed to remain.
Then, as the air started to get warmer, a great red dragon emerged from the depths of the cave, smoke emitting from it's mouth.
George grabbed the young girls hand and put her on the back on the horse, sending the horse and girl away for their safety.
George did a sign of the cross and charged at the dragon with his spear.
The red dragon breathed fire at him, which George blocked with his shield, he inched closer keeping his guard up, the dragon stopped breathing fire and flapped it's wings to fly up.
George recalled it's horse, having left the princess at the city, he jumped onto it and galloped towards the dragon.
The dragon already lifting itself from the ground, by a miracle, George's horse jumped high up in the air, George jumped off of it towards the dragon.
