NEW: AP reporting that House Judiciary Committee interviewed Jay Bratt, former top DOJ official and Jack Smith's lead thug in classified docs case, on Wednesday. Bratt repeatedly invoked Fifth Amendment in refusing to answer questions.

Bratt helped initiate the docs investigation into Pres Trump and visited Mar a Lago on June 3, 2022. He overruled alleged objections by FBI, including Washington FBI field office chief Steven D'Antuono, to seek a warrant to raid Mar a Lago in August 2022.

He also reportedly threatened Stanley Woodward, a now top Trump DOJ official who represented Walt Nauta in docs case, with sabotaging a judgeship Stanley had applied for in DC if he did not convince Nauta to flip on Trump.

Jay Bratt has got to be feeling that cell door starting to swing shut on him. I'm willing to guess that he's 5th Amendment clutching is a play for him turning informant and cutting a federal deal to remain free. Jack Smith and some others are probably sweating now.
