First I encourage MSmg mods to be fair and active, as inactive mods are sometimes removed during resets.

I would say political discussion in the comment section is optional here as opposed to being encouraged in the politics stream.

It is optional in msmg for sure but the problem is
Msmg have a majority of teenagers who are not liking political posts BUT
Even if some of thoses are indeed nice and funny, most of them cannot be understood by most of this majority and some could even be interpreted in a wrong way that could lead into rough argument wich is not good at all.

ig liking and/or interpreting political posts in MSmg is up to the audience and no harm in civil discussion.

Arguing is ok, abusive attacks from some users directed at MSmg politics posters isn't.
