Silver the Hedgehog (シルバー・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Shirubā za Hejjihoggu?) is a character who appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog who travels back in time from two hundred years in the future to the present. His goal is to preserve peace in the future by resolving the disasters of the past, resulting in frequent interactions with Sonic the Hedgehog and other denizens of the time. For his missions, Silver uses powerful psychokinesis, which allows him to manipulate physical objects with the power of his mind.
Silver is a kind-hearted and optimistic individual who always wears his heart on his sleeve. He is driven by a strong sense of hope and wants nothing more than peace. Although his forthright and passionate nature can make him naïve or abrasive, he takes his mission very seriously and will do whatever it takes to protect the world.
