Baptism is not salvation in any denomination so you could ask that about Christianity as a whole.

But as for the Presbyterians, again, it’s viewed a commitment by the church and the parents (if the person being baptized is a child) to fellowship and care for one another in Christ.

Salvation is recognizing and confessing that you are a sinner, and believing that Jesus is the son of God and died for your sins.

Baptism is a sacrament of worship like communion is.

One thing I want to point out is that I am not in the PCUSA. There was a split off in 1983 which formed PCA (Presbyterian Church of America). That’s the one I’m in.

You may see old church buildings which are Presbyterian, that’s usually PCUSA. Most PCA’s are church plants in schools, gyms, or new buildings.
