Reflecting on Elon Musk's work in the White House, it was good but could have been much better.
With DOGE, a lot of people turned on him because there wasn't a large enough safety net for the employees who were fired. Getting rid of an inefficient department is fine, but those affected should have received some aid beyond severance so they can find jobs elsewhere and not face a permanent financial setback.
With the "salute incident", Musk most likely did not intend to support that certain group, but he should have offered some form of apology/confirmation instead of trying to downplay it.
But it's not all Musk's fault. The toxicity of the alt-left exaggerated his mistakes and supported the vandalization of Tesla cars, which are driven by people from all sides of the political spectrum.
It's sad to see Tesla lose its stock value and for Musk to step down too early. I think there was a lot of potential in Musk being a top advisor in the Trump
admin long term, such as convincing Republicans to
take climate change seriously and improving trade
relations and technological cooperation with China.
Musk isn't perfect, but he still has good intentions for
America and humanity somewhere in his heart. I still
believe he could be the real life Iron Man, and this
won't be his last chance to save the world.
