I'm pretty sure that if anything bad were to happen should the Dalai Lama meet J.D. Vance, it wouldn't be much of a big deal, since the Dalai Lama will just simply reincarnate into Dalai Lama v15 (give or take the 49-day Tibetan-Buddhist reincarnation cooldown-timer), but that's just my two-cents.
