I never even knew PMD had it's own anime until I looked it up.

It wasn't even an anime, really. It was just a ton of ads for Super Mystery Dungeon, which was about to release at the time. And the only three "episodes" that felt like a true "anime" were the Rescue Team one and the two Explorers ones. They were around 40 minutes each, but the Gates one wasn't even ten minutes...
