Here's how I would have done this:
I would have had Charlie Brown drink something before taking off running. Lucy focuses on the ball, pulls it away, and then a giant foot kicks both her and the football clear into the sky. We then see Charlie Brown is 90 feet tall. As for Lucy, she lands in an electrical substation and gets electrocuted.
This is mainly because yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing and today is the 26th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting,.which also involved exploding bombs.
