I haven’t had a dog since 2017, but that’ happened more than once. 🤢

My dog runs toward the location and waits for the cat to finish...then gobbles it down! Which saves me from picking up WARM barf which is the worst!

I guess you could say “good doggy!” for doing that 😁. I usually hear it when one of my cats barfs. It mostly happens when they didn’t digest their dry food well enough. Or a hairball mixed in with the food.

Yeah...how do I help him with digestion? Poor guy goes through rounds of barfing.

My cats do it at least 2 or 3 times before they finally quit. I really don’t know what to do to help them. There are probably meds that would help them. It doesn’t happen a lot to my cats. Probably about once every couple of weeks. It’s usually a hairball that triggers it.
Rhett likes to eat leaves if any get tracked into the house. He’ll eat one and almost immediately start puking. Lady, my other cat usually has a hairball when she does it, mixed with her food.

So it takes 2 or 3 times before they get the hairball out?

Usually it comes out the first or second time. They keep doing it until there’s nothing left to throw up. Usually they’ll go right back to their food bowl and start eating again, with no problem. I think that most of the time it’s triggered by the hairball and whatever is in their stomach will come out with it.

He'll barf twice daily for 3 days and then nothing for weeks. Sometimes its just water, which really worries me. It's gotten better now that I give him yogurt for the probiotics and I raised the height of his food bowl for easier swallowing.

They’ll do that, too. The last time they do it will be mostly water or mucus. Sometimes Lady will get water up her nose from drinking too fast and throw that up. It’s never the same with mine. Like yours they’ll go several weeks without throwing up and then do it 2-3 days in a row. So far it’s just been hair, food, mucus or water. No blood, thankfully.
