Kundera write about the imminence of imagery. I now believe that taking that too seriously is not so much playing God as playing in God's garden. Humbleness does most humans far better. That is plainly, wishing to exist ultra independently may sometimes be granted.

But that's the purpose of Gods, to become Godlike. At least that's how most people see them. That's why most people miss the point of their own religions. They think it's some sort of exclusive club and they're all vying for top membership. They don't learn anything, they don't change themselves, they don't change their way of seeing things, they just learn how to look down on others who aren't proper members.

Trying to make themselves into something more important than their insignificant selves causes them to fail to notice that they already are something. Not much, but that's more than they'll ever get to be from trying to pretend they can become something that they can never be.
